When traveling, we all know the drill: you've got hours to kill between checking out of your hotel and catching your flight, or perhaps your cruise departure. You're dragging your luggage around, trying to find somewhere to relax, but the weather turns on you, or your original plans fall through. That's exactly what happened to us on our recent trip, but luckily,

we stumbled upon a travel hack that made all the difference: a day-use hotel.
Let me tell you why a day-use hotel, especially one like Rodeway Inn in Fort Lauderdale, is one of the best-kept secrets for a stress-free, enjoyable travel experience.
When the Weather (or Plans) Don’t Cooperate
Our original plan was to rent a poolside cabana at a resort for the day before our late flight back home. But then, rain clouds rolled in, and our sunny poolside dream quickly turned into a soggy mess. Not wanting to spend hours waiting at the airport with no place to go, we started searching for an alternative and came across Rodeway Inn.
It was a game-changer.
Affordable and Convenient Day-Use Rentals
For a very reasonable rate, Rodeway Inn offered us the perfect escape from the weather. Whether you're in between flights or want a relaxing place to unwind before a cruise, day-use hotels give you a comfortable and practical space to relax, freshen up, and store your luggage without paying for a full-night stay. At Rodeway Inn, we found a clean, cozy room that gave us plenty of time to recharge, all while staying within budget. We had the option to use their outdoor pool, get a quick bite at the attached restaurant, or take the shuttle to the movies which is what we opted to do. My kids were SO excited to see Sonic 3!
Luggage Storage & A Comfortable Spot to Hang Out
Let’s talk about luggage storage. Traveling with a heavy bag can be a hassle, especially when your departure time is still hours away. But Rodeway Inn offered an easy solution. We didn’t have to drag our luggage through the rain or leave it in a crowded airport lounge. Instead, we securely stored our luggage at the hotel and had the privilege to come and go as we

wanted.
Great Amenities for Travelers
Rodeway Inn isn’t just a place to store your bags and kill time. It’s got a ton of features that make it a standout choice:
Connected Sports Bar: We were able to grab a cold drink and some tasty bites at the on-site sports bar. Whether you’re looking to watch a game or enjoy some relaxation time, it’s a great spot to hang out.
Convenience Store & Souvenir Shop: Need snacks for the journey ahead or a last-minute souvenir? Rodeway Inn has a little convenience store and a souvenir shop to pick up essentials or gifts. My little boys were THRILLED about this!
Shuttle Services: The hotel offers a free airport shuttle, so you don't have to worry about arranging transportation to and from the airport. Plus, if you're in the mood to explore local dining or shopping spots, they provide a shuttle to those areas for a nominal fee. We took advantage of this feature for both our trip to the movies and our trip to catch flights. With 7 large suitcases, 5 duffle bags, and countless backpacks, they were able to fit all 8 of us and our luggage, no problem.
Cruise Travelers: Stay, Park, and Go
Rodeway Inn is a practical choice for cruisers as well. If you're cruising from either the Fort Lauderdale or Miami ports, they offer stay-and-park deals, which let you park your car at the hotel while you’re away. They also have a shuttle service to the cruise ports, making it easy to catch your ship without worrying about transportation or parking costs. It’s a fantastic convenience for anyone headed to a cruise but arriving early or with time to kill.
A Perfect Place for Long Layovers or Pre/Post Cruise Relaxation
For anyone traveling through Fort Lauderdale, whether you're in between flights or getting ready for your next adventure, a day-use hotel like Rodeway Inn is a fantastic way to make the most of your time. You get to rest, refresh, and take care of any last-minute needs (like shopping or grabbing a bite to eat) without the hassle of lugging your bags around or dealing with weather disruptions.
Don't overlook the value of a day-use hotel during your travels. Whether it's for luggage

storage, a dry and comfortable place to relax, or a convenient stop before your flight or cruise, places like Rodeway Inn provide a stress-free oasis for travelers. After discovering it for ourselves, we’ll definitely be using this option again on our future trips. It was the perfect way to wait out the rain and enjoy our last few hours in Fort Lauderdale before heading back home.
So, next time your travel plans change or the weather takes a turn, consider a day-use hotel. You’ll be glad you did!
