The ABC Islands—Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao—are a trio of stunning Caribbean destinations located just off the northern coast of South America. Known for their crystal-clear waters, vibrant marine life, and unique blend of cultures, the islands derive their name from the first letters of their names. This holiday season, we were lucky enough to embark on a cruise to these tropical gems, making for an unforgettable Christmas adventure.

Christmas Eve Fun in Aruba

Our first stop was Aruba, where we spent Christmas Eve soaking up the sun on the island's world-famous beaches. The day was packed with thrilling water activities, including tubing, jet skiing, and parasailing. Each experience brought its rush of excitement and spectacular views. The highlight? Watching my kids experience new and exciting adventures! This adrenaline-filled day left us exhilarated and ready for the adventures to come.

Christmas Day in Bonaire

Christmas morning we woke up in Bonaire, where we took to the water once again on a private charter. Snorkeling and tubing in the pristine waters of Bonaire was an experience like no other. The intimate setting of the charter allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of the island. For me, this was a particularly memorable day, as I snorkeled for the first time ever! Despite my initial hesitation and apprehension about the mysteries lurking beneath the surface, I conquered my fears and ended up loving every moment. The vibrant coral reefs and colorful fish made it a magical and transformative experience. This day stood out as our favorite—exciting, fun, and deeply personal.

A Leisurely Stroll in Curaçao

After two action-packed days, we were understandably tired but still eager to explore Curaçao. The island’s charm immediately won us over as we wandered through its colorful streets, visited charming shops, and marveled at the iconic floating Queen Emma Bridge. Curaçao’s blend of Dutch architecture and Caribbean flair made it a feast for the eyes. Though we didn’t have the energy for more adventurous activities, we left with a strong desire to return and explore this beautiful island in greater depth.
